Hawaii has its own version of May Day called “Lei Day”. Learn more about it with this daily edit:
May Day, the first day of the month of may, is celebrated as Lei Day in the state of Hawaii. Leis (pronounced lays) are colorful strands of flowers that is hanged around the neck as a cymbal of piece and friendship. hawaiians welcome visitors with leis. Their considered to be so special that a lei should never be refused or took off in front of the giver Hawaii has celebrated Lei Day sinse 1928.
