Math Challenge May 1
The centerpiece of May Day is the maypole. The maypole is a tree which is harvested from the woods, stripped of its branches, decorated with ribbons, and used as a symbol of the holiday. Often a dance is performed around the maypole.
If a young 5-foot tree (or sapling) grows 5 inches each month, how many months would it be before the sapling reached the minimum maypole height of 15 feet?
