Homeschool Math Challenge May 20

Max sees a department store ad announcing that his favorite blue jeans, which have a regular price of $50, are now on sale for 60% off the regular price. Making things even better, Max has a coupon that entitles him to 40% off the sale price of those same blue jeans. Max goes to the store, expecting the blue jeans to be free, but he is dismayed when he is told that even with the 60% off sale, and the coupon good for 40% off the sale price, the jeans are not free. How much do the blue jeans still cost after both discounts?
