The total area of the state of Texas is 268,600 square miles which makes the state as large as all of New England, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Illinois combined. 261,914 square miles of the state are land and 6,686 square miles are water. a) What percentage of Texas is land? b) What percentage is water?
