Place Value Lesson Plan

Numbers are made up of digits in the same way that words are made up of letters. Digits can be any number from 0 to 9.

Place Value is the value given to the place a digit has in a number.

The number 432 (four hundred thirty-two) is made up of the digits 4,3, and 2. Each digit has a special value which depends on its place in the number.

These words are called place value headings.
