On January 17, 2006, students around the world commemorated Benjamin Franklin's 300th birthday by participating in a common scientific enterprise. Ben is known for his words of wisdom, including "a penny saved is a penny earned." It is fitting that, on his Tercentenary, the power of a single coin was demonstrated when students around the world collectively engaged in a common scientific experiment to determine, once and for all, if "heads" or "tails" occurs more frequently in coin flips.
They had the following results:
Total Number of Flips = 210,310
Total Number of Heads = 107,562
Total Number of Tails = 102,748
What percentage were heads? What percentage were tails?
